Today was our shortest travel day so far, but it was our most beautiful as well. I haven’t spent a lot of time in southern Oregon, so I’m guessing at the names of some of the things I pictured below. If anyone can correct me, let me know!

We woke up at the Naval Air Station’s Famcamp this morning and Mark walked down to the office to try to pay for our night’s stay, but they didn’t open until 10:00. Around 10:00, he tried again, but the right staff member wasn’t in there to take the payment, so someone else told him to just leave his card information.

Last time, I left you with an image of our pantry and food all over the floor. Mark worked hard to rebuild it.

Happy Sunday to you all! It is a very happy Sunday for me. Mark just got our electricity working. We have had no electricity in our outlets since the 12th, and you never know how much you depend on it until you lose it!

I picked up some flowers after work and took them over to Jose, and Mark had just gone into their trailer to give Jose his condolences. Jose showed us videos that his nephew has been taking of the funeral.

I got Dobby in 2005, right before my divorce. The next May, I met Mark who had a big dog named Dolly. She would dance with him in the kitchen! I graduated from library school at the end of 2006 and planned to go to Mexico to volunteer for a year, so Mark said he would take Dobby until I returned from Mexico. My stay in Mexico only lasted a few months before I got deathly ill and had to come back. The day after I returned, around Easter in 2007, Mark and I sat with Dolly while she was being euthanized. She had a tumor and he had to have her put down.

Today, Mark and I drove up to Phoenix (Serenity had gone up earlier in the morning) to meet Jose and help him pick a suit for the wedding. When we got there, Serenity introduced the two men and they immediately went into the store without us women. I chalked it up to male bonding time!
