  1. I recently had the privilege of working with Denise Fuller on a writing project. Her abilities to proofread (every writer needs a good proofreader!) and copyedit (every writer needs a good copyeditor, too!) are top drawer. She is fast, her prices reasonable, and her work exemplary. I wholeheartedly recommend her for your writing projects.

  2. My purpose in writing this letter is to recommend Denise Fuller’s abilities as an editor and her knowledge of children’s literature. My name is Mark Richardson and I am the Young Adult Librarian at the Cedar Mill Community Library. One of my goals over the past 2 to 3 years has been to develop different booklists for the teens at our library. Each list usually has 30 to 40 books with short descriptions of the book. It is easy to make mistakes when working on these lists, so I will often ask the other librarians to check them before I print out the final copy. Denise has been invaluable as an editor for these lists. She is detail oriented and skilled grammatically, so I am much more at ease printing out the final list after Denise has looked it over. In addition, she is knowledgeable about juvenile and teen literature. She makes the extra effort to keep up with what kids are reading currently. Because of this, she is ideally suited to recommend age ranges for the books on the booklist. This is extremely important when making lists for middle grade vs. high school students.
Denise is kind and thoughtful and always willing to put in extra time and effort to help when asked. Her editing skills are excellent and if you have a need for someone who is detail oriented with excellent editing skills, Denise is an exceptional choice.

    Sincerely,
    Mark D. Richardson

  3. Denise has been helping Comic Rocket with one of it’s critical business functions, submitting age appropriate ratings for web comics through the crowd sourcing for Comic Rocket. She is qualified for determining age ranges because of her background as a youth librarian. She has also done flawless data entry for us because of her keen attention to detail. What’s more, she is personable and very helpful. I find her to be a delight to work with. I highly recommend her for any position as proofreader/editor. She would be a particularly strong choice for working with graphic novels or similar materials. Tim Shields CEO of Comic Rocket June 2, 2012

  4. Denise Fuller was highly recommended to me, when I was looking for a copy editor. As a first time author, I was afraid of being rejected. She agreed to take me as a client, and I’m very grateful that she took that risk.

My book is a memoir about being a caregiver for my husband who had Lou Gehrig’s Disease. It is “our” story of living with a terminal disease.

I realized that Denise was more familiar with young people’s book editing as well as brochures, and newsletters, so I was thrilled she took my manuscript as a challenge.

She has done a marvelous job of proofreading and editing my book. She is truly an expert in her field. Denise is easy to work with, she let me set my own pace, and I loved the fact we did a little at a time so I wasn’t overwhelmed with suddenly getting the whole book at once.

I, too, highly recommend Denise to proofread and copy edit any type of book.

    Sincerely,
    Delores Warner

  5. Denise, is an insightful and accessible editor. I am impressed by her dedication to completing the job within the promised time period as well as her integrity in communicating any potential issues on the front end. I am also impressed by the wide range of life experience she brings to the table in addition to her commitment to topical research. Far from a “Word Nazi” she makes it clear that she considers the author the final authority on any issue so we had a great initial discussion wherein I disclosed what I felt my strengths were as far as background and where I was hoping for a bigger safety net to make sure I didn’t screw up some important fact. Denise has had my back consistently and despite having price point flexibility, she always treats authors like million dollar clients. This is the sort of support I was looking for when I reached out to her and she delivers big time consistently. I can’t wait to write something else so I can collaborate with her again.

  6. Denise Fuller proofed a complicated family history, with too many surnames, place names and dates to count. She did an excellent job and finished well before anticipated. She met with me to go over the corrections/changes and I found each to be “spot on.” Her rates were totally reasonable and she finished on budget. My co-author and I were very pleased with the results and look forward to working with her in the future.
