Today was a day of ups and downs, meaning that we went through a lot of mountains and hills, not the least of which was Cabbage Hill as soon as we left Pendleton. Mark was amazed that we climbed it at 40 mph today! Usually, he says, we can only go 30 or 35 mph. He doesn’t know what made the difference today.

Happy birthday to me!

Thank you to everyone who has been sending me birthday wishes today! I haven’t written since Mark and I arrived at my mother’s house because I have been having trouble getting on the internet, so I’m using Mom’s computer tonight. I have pictures!

A day of rest

There are a lot of LDS churches around here, as you might guess, and a handful of mainstream churches. I have looked at all of them online and wasn’t feeling very hopeful, but I was drawn to check out the Greek Orthodox Church here in Price, Hellenic Orthodox Church of the Assumption. I had once visited an Orthodox church in Los Gatos, CA, when we were Workamping there, and was intrigued.

The house

This morning, there were some highs and lows. Mark was able to fix our plumbing situation, so we have water now. Yay! Then we planned to go out and look around some more, but when Mark turned the key in the car, nothing happened, not even a sound. Mark tested the battery, and it was fine, so he got out and rocked the car, and it started right up.

Looking at houses

Mark and I have been watching Zillow for close to a year, so we sat down at lunchtime with a list of some houses here in Price that we thought we might be interested in. We were just going to drive past them and see what we thought of the neighborhoods. All the houses we looked at in downtown Price were disappointing. They looked small and crowded, and the neighborhoods weren’t very nice. We were about to decide we’d better look in other towns, but we decided to finish the list.
