It was a slower day today than yesterday so I had the opportunity to take a few pictures of some of the other things going on. I should also mention that the theme of our country fair was National Pollinator Week.

Door County North Country Fair
Today was the first day of the first annual Door County North Country Fair: Wings of Life. I have been working for the last couple of months, but especially this month, toward this weekend.

Last night, our motel room was so bad that after lights out Kader and I were still giggling about it! This morning…

I went to church this morning and asked for prayer for Mark’s last day on the road. All afternoon, Tucson seemed kind of antsy, like she knew he was supposed to be arriving today. Both of us were listening every time we heard a motorcycle. Finally, this evening after 5:30 we were outside waiting for what we knew had to come at any time, and we were rewarded with the sound of a motorcycle turning into the church parking lot. When Mark rounded the corner of the church, I squealed and skipped over to him with my arms open wide! Tucson ran to him too, but I beat her there!

Last night, we parked behind Cracker Barrel, so this morning, Mark was eager for me to get up so we could go in and get breakfast.

It’s been another bitterly cold day with strong headwinds. It has taken me a while to get my pictures from today processed and it’s late, so I’ll try to keep this short.

Mark and I heard, incorrectly, this morning, that the highway was closed between Pendleton and La Grande, so we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to leave Pendleton. About mid-morning, Mark talked with someone who said that the highway was open, so we cautiously set out. We were going to try to get some tire chains, but the tire store was closed for New Year’s Day. We made it here, so it turned out OK.
