Today would have been the 71st birthday of my older sister, Sherill. The whole family has been talking about her and thinking about her today. We all miss her something awful!

Early celebration
Tomorrow, June 13th, is Mark’s and my 13th wedding anniversary. Mark is leaving in the morning to go to Florida for a BACA conference and will be gone for a week and a half, so we had to celebrate today along with other things he had to prepare for leaving.

On Tuesday, the 13th, I got my second COVID shot, and as anticipated, I felt crappy on Wednesday. I had such a bad migraine that I ended up in the ER Wednesday afternoon to get an IV. That took time out of our schedule of getting ready to go home. Also, Mark had a roof job that just ended yesterday.

First I’d like to say a word about my pastor, Nancy Bontempo. She will be leaving in a week for a clinic in Chicago that does a combination of whole body and traditional treatment. I believe she said she’d be there for five days while they have a team of therapists from different specialties examine her and ask her questions about her diet and exercise and mental attitude and such. She will be staying with a friend who has offered to take her back and forth to her appointments, so she doesn’t have that kind of expense to worry about. However, her insurance will only pay for any traditional therapy she gets. She is attempting to raise $50,000 for the rest of her treatment and has started a GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nancy-bontempo-fighting-breast-cancer?fbclid=IwAR13FnmbqhcqhgqZvqZc98yIDWGHzhHaHIs6gTkNG1REQw2Kri8rjXCojPI. I don’t usually ask if my readers would like to help with things like this, but for her sake, I’ll make an exception. If you could even contribute a dollar or two, it would be a help. Thank you! Mixing business and pleasure
While Mark was at work today, I was carrying on with the remodel, but I also took time to enjoy nature for a while.
From Milwaukie, OR
We finally made it here. We arrived around noon and then Mark tried to get everything set up. For some reason, our electrical keeps tripping the breaker, so we will need to use the generator in the RV until Mark can find the parts to fix it. We also need to get another hose so we can hook up to water. We are just really happy to have landed, and the family has been contacting us to welcome us back. Since I wasn’t able to show pictures from yesterday, I’ll include some of those today. Continue reading
Autumn
I’m not exactly sure which season I like best, but right at the moment, fall is my favorite. People come to the peninsula in October to observe the autumn colors. I have been driving around with my camera for the last week or so in case there’s something I want to shoot, and I’ve been glad to have my camera along many times. Continue reading
August days
One good thing about having a German Shepherd puppy is that I have to go outside more than I did last summer. This month in particular, I’ve been paying close attention to what I see and hear… Continue reading
I feel good!
I have been sick with a bad cold which I caught from Mark who caught it from Jamey last week. Today was the first day I felt well enough to leave the house. Continue reading
