Yesterday Kathy asked if she could see Mark and me in her office and I thought, “Oh, oh!” However, she only wanted to ask if we’d like to see a free play tonight. She said she and Tim would cover our evening rounds if we wanted to go, so we jumped at the opportunity. Our co-workers, Susan and Cherie also went and we followed them to the theater. Potluck
Today Tim and Kathy told us to just do a glorified walk-through of the bathrooms (what some would call “a lick and a promise”) so that we could participate in the annual potluck. This is when as many of the staff and the seasonals as are here get together for a party. Continue reading
The church of The Old Rugged Cross
When Mark and I were researching churches in the area we found that there are not many in this tip of the peninsula, but Sturgeon Bay has both an LDS church and a Friends church. They both meet at 10:00 on Sunday morning, so since we’d been to Mark’s church last week, we went to the Friends Community Church this morning. Continue reading
From Little Rock, AR
Last night several of us class members initiated a new fire ring Mark and I got and roasted marshmallows. We stayed up late talking, and then this morning everyone helped each other get ready to leave. Ricky and Mike helped Mark load his Harley into the truck and then we said our goodbyes to them. Lance drove by and wished us luck in our business and safety in our travels. Then I went over to Bob and Sally’s RV and knocked on the door. Bob came out and chatted with us for a while. He said he would recommend all of us to RVIC if we all wanted to contract with them. After all the goodbyes, we hit the road. Continue reading
Girls’ day out
Mark was in class all day today and I thought it was going to be a quiet day in the RV for me. I’ve been trying to get a little walking in each day, so this morning I planned to take a ten minute walk around the park every hour to keep myself moving. While I was out walking I saw that our next door neighbor was walking too. I had never spoken to her before, but her husband had greeted us yesterday when we pulled in and I had seen her working around their RV, so I knew who she was. I greeted her as I was passing by this morning and she invited me to join her. Continue reading
Mike and Cindy
When Mark and I were working in Alaska last summer, we were working for Mike Jernigan and his parents. Towards the end of the summer Mike’s fiancé, Cindy, came to spend a week with him and the moment she saw me she recognized me from high school! Continue reading
All in a day’s work
Last night before Mark and I went to bed we noticed that our electricity wasn’t working. This morning Mark fired up the generator. He tried checking our fuse box and everything, but couldn’t find what the problem was. I went out to feed the pigs and saw Karl already in the barn. When he found out we didn’t have electricity he went to look at our situation with Mark and discovered that the problem was in the electricity coming from the cabin where we’re hooked up. Continue reading
My doppleganger
We were off today due to high winds (not good when big pickup trucks have their bed fully raised), so this is the day I write about a gift God gave me on September 9th. Her name is Denise Michelle Fuller. Continue reading
Potluck
There was a potluck scheduled for 2:00 here in the fairgrounds this afternoon. The afternoon started out warm but breezy, I think everyone came, and there was lots of good food. Continue reading
From Sidney, MT
This morning we left Bozeman KOA at 10:30. This was the last day of our journey for this job and we were both in a better mood in spite of difficulties sleeping last night. Continue reading
