We had to make it to Oregon by Sunday because I had a dental appointment yesterday. I thought it was going to be for a deep cleaning, which I was dreading…

Creative day
Today, I got to spend the day with women. Good day! And I got to be creative. Even better! Continue reading
A little bit of catch-up
First, some news about my pastor, Nancy. I believe I had last told you that she was not going to have a mastectomy. That was the news she told us all when she sent a phone call out to the church. Ten minutes later, the oncologist called her and told her that not only was that still a possibility, but the doctor wanted her to have a port put in to start a sixteen-week course of chemo. My pastor was too devastated to call back. Continue reading
Woo-hoo!
I have wonderful news from my pastor, Nancy Bontempo, today. She finally had a successful biopsy that told the doctors what they needed to know before treating her. The upshot is that she will not have to have a mastectomy! Praise the Lord! Continue reading
Storms
One more update on my friends in Louisiana… Betty sends her thanks for all the prayers that went up for them after I posted about her and Mike. She says that while others are saying the weathermen were wrong, she prefers to believe that God answered our prayers and hers.
Speaking of storms, we went through a doozy today.
Mock up
I’m going to keep this short tonight. This evening, Mark and I moved everything back into the bathroom temporarily so we can see how it’s all going to fit. Continue reading
The floor is in!
Saturday evening, Mark put the adhesive for the bathroom floor down. The bucket of adhesive said to wait until it wasn’t tacky anymore to lay the linoleum on it. By Sunday morning, it was still tacky. Continue reading
All God’s critters got a place in the choir…
First I’d like to say a word about my pastor, Nancy Bontempo. She will be leaving in a week for a clinic in Chicago that does a combination of whole body and traditional treatment. I believe she said she’d be there for five days while they have a team of therapists from different specialties examine her and ask her questions about her diet and exercise and mental attitude and such. She will be staying with a friend who has offered to take her back and forth to her appointments, so she doesn’t have that kind of expense to worry about. However, her insurance will only pay for any traditional therapy she gets. She is attempting to raise $50,000 for the rest of her treatment and has started a GoFundMe page: https://www.gofundme.com/f/nancy-bontempo-fighting-breast-cancer?fbclid=IwAR13FnmbqhcqhgqZvqZc98yIDWGHzhHaHIs6gTkNG1REQw2Kri8rjXCojPI. I don’t usually ask if my readers would like to help with things like this, but for her sake, I’ll make an exception. If you could even contribute a dollar or two, it would be a help. Thank you! No turning back now
When I got home from church this afternoon, Mark was working in the bathroom. He accomplished quite a bit. Continue reading
Showing the kids around
I was kind of worn out yesterday after taking Jamey and Sage to Washington Island. I had taken a bunch of pictures and fell asleep before I could get them all processed. Today was less tiring, which I will explain later, but first, pictures from yesterday… Continue reading
