A new family member

Door County businesses have a difficult time getting enough workers to help during the tourist season, so there is a program where university students from other countries can come here and work.  There is also a coalition of churches here called Bridges that recruits Christian families to sort of “adopt” these international students for the summer.  Mark and I did it last year and they asked us to do it again this year.  We accepted. Lots happening…

The furnace guys came around 8:30 this morning to put the ductwork in.  Apparently, at 12:20, the delivery people tried to deliver our new tub, but with the furnace truck in the driveway, I guess they decided not to drop it off.  I was out getting lunch for the young men and me so I didn’t know about until I found their note tucked into my screen door.  And at 1:30, Bill Curran came to work some more on our bathroom vanity. Parting is such sweet sorrow

Mark left at 9:30 this morning headed toward Indiana.  I tried to delay him as long as possible so that I could have a little more time with him, but I should have let him go sooner because he didn’t reach his destination until 9:00 our time, 10:00 Eastern time.  Thankfully, he took Tucson with him.
