Yippee!!!

“Mark surprised me by making it home tonight! At first, he had said he would be home by the 18th. Last night, he said he’d probably spend the night in Green Bay tonight so that he could get a new set of tires for my car (I’ve had a flat tire since Thursday and haven’t been able to go anywhere). This afternoon, he texted me and said, “See you soon!”, and I said, “Like today?” He sent me a big grin!

Trip to Milwaukee

This morning, Mark and I had to again get up at 6:00. We drove to Serenity and Jose’s place in Algoma and left our car there. They took us down to Milwaukee, WI and dropped us off at the Jim May Gallery where our daughter, Kader works. She had just flown back from Florida with another of our daughters, Lara, yesterday. Lara is only going to be in Wisconsin for a couple of days, so this was our best chance to see them both. Serenity and Jose went off to do their own exploring while we visited.

67 years old!?

Today was my birthday. I got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, and as I was washing my hands, I was humming “Happy birthday to me!” I had to get up at 6:00 this morning to go to a tourism breakfast in Sturgeon Bay with my boss and co-workers from the Welcome Center, but it was fun. We have a new staff member and it was a good opportunity to get to know her better.

Sight seeing

It has been so long since Mark and I used to stop at sights along our route that I was really looking forward to today, but I’m feeling my age tonight! I should mention that Mark used an actual camera and I was able to download his sim card more easily than I could the pictures from my phone with our connection issues here in the Black Hills. There are a few of mine mixed in here, but most of them are Mark’s.

From Mt Rushmore, SD

Our reception here at the Mt Rushmore KOA isn’t very good, so I wasn’t able to download many pictures, which is probably just as well since I’ve been staying up late to process all the ones I’ve published.

From Hardin, MT

Going through Montana today reminded me of the train trip Mom and I took from Portland to Wisconsin several years ago. We were in a sleeper car, and a woman in the next room to us came to our door as we were crossing Montana and said, “Are we ever going to get out of Montana?” It seems to go on and on forever!
