Fun week!

Last Thursday, I took our Jamaican daughters, Javier and Mackayla, to Jacksonport to see the sights and have dinner. Unfortunately, the smoke from the Canadian fires was so thick it gave me a scratchy throat and we couldn’t see much. This was at Cave Point County Park.

Yippee!!!

“Mark surprised me by making it home tonight! At first, he had said he would be home by the 18th. Last night, he said he’d probably spend the night in Green Bay tonight so that he could get a new set of tires for my car (I’ve had a flat tire since Thursday and haven’t been able to go anywhere). This afternoon, he texted me and said, “See you soon!”, and I said, “Like today?” He sent me a big grin!

Lessons on the road

You may recall that I gave Liuda her first driving lesson in July and then another one in August.  It has been difficult to coordinate with her for driving lessons, especially since she has been sick for the last three weeks.  She told me today that she has pneumonia. Continue reading

Jacksonport

My son and daughter-in-law are here to visit for a couple days.  This morning they came to see the house and the yard.  Sarah is good at identifying plants and she says she thinks I have grapes and golden raspberries in my yard.  She recommended we wait to see whether they are before we consider pulling them out. Today I had a couple places I wanted to see, but we actually got more in than I had expected.  I had seen in the local paper that there’s a Mahjongg group at the YMCA in Fish Creek.  I have played the game on the computer so I wanted to see it in real life. Continue reading
