First day of school

This morning I went with Mark to the first session of his class.  When I said the Workamper.com RV and Workamper News car belonged to Terry Cooper, I was wrong.  They belong to the president of Workamper.com, Steve Anderson.  Terry Cooper and his wife, whom everyone calls Lady E, are in a fifth wheel right next to Steve and his wife. From Bartlesville, OK

Last night we slept with the windows open all night, and this morning we kept hearing an occasional Thwok! sound.  We figured out it was a bird trying to get in our window, but we couldn’t actually see him till we sat down for breakfast.  He came right up and sat on our window ledge for probably half a minute or so, having a good look at us as though we were animals in the zoo.  We said hello to him and he flew into the tree next to our window. On the mend… physically and spiritually

Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you to all of you who sent well wishes and prayers for me.  Tonight I feel almost human again and I’ve been told by an on-call nurse that I am no longer contagious, even though I’m still sniffling and sneezing and coughing.  Tomorrow I’m going to try half a day at work and see how I do.  Poor Miss Rose has had to cover for me too long! From Watson Lake, Yukon

I’m a little confused.  Yesterday the sunset time I saw for Portland, OR was 9:10pm.  Today I’m seeing sunset in Portland is 8:36.  I don’t know which is right, but sunset in Watson Lake tonight is 10:07pm!  Also, one thing I forgot to mention yesterday was that we’d seen a couple hikers walking along the highway pushing or pulling little carts with their supplies.  I think they’re making a trek along the Alcan Highway. From Prince George, BC

We got up early again this morning, and it didn’t take long to break camp and drive to the border.  They remembered us when we drove up and had us park and fill out some paperwork.  Mark told them that all he has with him now is his shotgun and ammo for it.  They charged us $25 (Canadian) and let us go without even looking in the RV.  We left the border at 8:00 this morning.
