New Year’s Day from Mountain Home, ID

Mark and I heard, incorrectly, this morning, that the highway was closed between Pendleton and La Grande, so we weren’t sure if we were going to be able to leave Pendleton. About mid-morning, Mark talked with someone who said that the highway was open, so we cautiously set out. We were going to try to get some tire chains, but the tire store was closed for New Year’s Day. We made it here, so it turned out OK.

New Year’s Eve from Pendleton, OR

Mark has had to leave his motorcycle in a Harley shop in Tigard to be serviced. He’s going to have to fly back to get it sometime during the next week or so. Today, he rented a tow dolly to carry the car that I have been using in Oregon for the last several years. We didn’t actually get out of the Tigard area until about 2:00. We were only planning a 4-hour drive, so no biggie.

My son’s remodel

Yesterday, Mom and I went over to my son’s (Jamey’s) house to see what he and Sage had done to it in 2019. Due to Covid, we weren’t able to see it when I was here last year. In fact, Jamey hasn’t been to a barber since Covid hit and I was surprised (pleasantly so!) to see that he has grown a ponytail and it’s curly like my hair!
