Mark dropped me off at work around 8:30 this morning because he finally had the supplies he needed to go up and do that job in Winkleman that we checked out a couple of weeks ago. He knew that was going to be a long day for him, especially since it takes and hour and fifteen minutes just to get there. He left me with my bike in case I needed to go home before he could come to pick me up. Continue reading

When we got up in Kingman this morning, it was really cold. Mark told me it would get warmer today, but considering how cold last winter was in Tucson, I wasn’t so sure. I put my long johns on. Continue reading

I tried charging my camera battery up all day today, but it’s dead. I don’t know if it’s the battery or the cord or the place I plugged it in, but I wasn’t able to get pictures with my camera today. Continue reading
Happy Thanksgiving!
Champoeg State Park was going to be full from tonight through Saturday night when Wendy first made a reservation for us this last week. By the time I got on last night to make a reservation beginning December 1st, the park was full until the 8th. That’s what procrastination gets you! Continue reading

In the middle of the night last night, sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning, we woke up to the sound of a couple fighting loudly outside our room. I think they had at least one teenaged son because I heard him tell his dad that he’d found something. I almost wondered if he was trying to pacify his dad to get him to stop yelling. It was rather upsetting. Continue reading

It’s funny what a big difference a few miles can make. When we were on the train going through Montana up near the border of Canada, everyone onboard started getting bored with the monotony of it after Glacier National Park. We’re just a little further south, and it was a much more interesting landscape going across today. The weather was perfect; almost balmy even! Continue reading

This morning, Mark went out to the RV to take care of the critters and found that we had no water. It was all frozen. We saw a lot of frozen water today. Continue reading

There was a funny story from the train trip that I forgot to write about last night. I mentioned the dinner Mom and I had in the dining car with the brother and sister who were retired librarians… Continue reading
Some Mom time
I have some catching up to do. I arrived in Portland on Tuesday evening, and on Wednesday morning, Mom and I were going to take her car to the garage to have some work done on it while she was gone. I got into the car I store at her place so that I could follow her, but nothing happened when I turned the key. We called AAA and the man started it and said it needed to run for an hour, so I followed her to her garage and then she did a couple of errands while I kept the car running. We stopped at a store near her home and I turned the car off and on again, but it was dead. We called AAA a second time, and this time the man sold us a new battery and installed it. Then the car ran reliably. Continue reading
