When I went to work at the Visitor’s Center today, the sky was sunny and blue. There was not a hint of the predicted thunderstorms. Continue reading

Happy birthday, Kader!
Today is Kader’s twenty-first birthday. I managed to get tickets to a play so that we could take her tonight. First, at Merih’s invitation, we took her to dinner in the bar at Sister Bay Bowl. That’s where he works and he wanted to serve us. We sat facing the bowling alley and enjoyed watching people of all ages play.
A little bit of catch-up
First, some news about my pastor, Nancy. I believe I had last told you that she was not going to have a mastectomy. That was the news she told us all when she sent a phone call out to the church. Ten minutes later, the oncologist called her and told her that not only was that still a possibility, but the doctor wanted her to have a port put in to start a sixteen-week course of chemo. Woo-hoo!

Storms
One more update on my friends in Louisiana… Betty sends her thanks for all the prayers that went up for them after I posted about her and Mike. She says that while others are saying the weathermen were wrong, she prefers to believe that God answered our prayers and hers.
Speaking of storms, we went through a doozy today.
Tropical Storm Barry: Part 2
A number of you have responded that you are praying for my friends, the Gills in Louisiana. I didn’t know where they lived and I’ve been concerned for them all day. I just got this from Betty… Continue reading
Tropical Storm Barry
This is a quick prayer request. I have friends in Louisiana, Mike and Betty Gill. Please pray for them and all the residents of Louisiana who are getting pounded with two feet of rain and eighty mile per hour winds as a result of Tropical Storm Barry.
Mock up
I’m going to keep this short tonight. This evening, Mark and I moved everything back into the bathroom temporarily so we can see how it’s all going to fit. Continue reading
No turning back now
When I got home from church this afternoon, Mark was working in the bathroom. He accomplished quite a bit. Continue reading
