The weather was the big news today. We left Albuquerque at 10:15 this morning and the temperature was 56°. We had planned to head for Falcon, Colorado today and skirt around Denver, but when we checked the forecast for both locations, Denver was at least going to be above freezing tonight. At one point today, we almost despaired of getting here. Continue reading

From Albuquerque, NM
We left Tucson, AZ — after having gotten air in the RV tires and gas in the pickup — around 10:45 this morning. The temperature was 78°. It has not been one of our better days… Continue reading
…Get set…Go!
Mark’s last day at work was last Saturday and mine was today. Mark has been doing things to the RV to prepare for our trip to the frozen north. He resealed the roof, patched leaks, caulked, put our new (to us) topper over the bedroom slide out, and began packing things back into the basement of the RV. Continue reading
Arizona Sonora Desert Museum
The one thing my father has most wanted Mark and I to see before we leave Tucson (the town, not the dog) is the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. You may recall we set out to go once before and we got side-tracked by Old Tucson. We realized that it was now or never, so we went this afternoon in honor of Dad. Continue reading
Old Tucson
I finally convinced Mark to go on an outing with me yesterday. My father has described to me, several times, a place he would like us to visit before we leave here and we started out to go there, but we got sidetracked when we stopped at Old Tucson on the way… Continue reading
Tombstone
Judy, whom I call the president of my Wisconsin fan club, and her husband, David, live south of us about an hour’s drive during the winter. Today, Judy and David and Mark and I met in Tombstone for a fun afternoon. Continue reading
Mission San Xavier del Bac
This morning as Mark and I were leaving our RV park to go to church, a whole family of Native Americans walked in front of us. When they passed and we were driving down San Xavier (pronounced Ha-vee-AIR) Rd., we kept passing small groups of people walking toward the mission. The mission is about two miles away from where we live. Continue reading
Tubac, AZ
This morning it was my turn to pick a church to attend, so I picked one that was recommended by an old friend of mine… Continue reading
From Tucson, AZ
We’re here! Thank you to those of you who were praying for safety for our trip. I had a training to get to at 1:00 today, so we felt a little rushed. We left Phoenix at 8:50 am. The temperature was 49°. Remember me saying I didn’t think I was going to need a sweater until I got back to Wisconsin? I’m re-thinking that! The temperature got up into the 70’s this afternoon, but when I came out of my training it was cooler and more comfortable. Nights in the desert are colder, so I’m not putting my sweaters away yet. Continue reading
From Phoenix, AZ
Last night I learned that there is a training I need to attend tomorrow at 1:00 pm, so we pushed today to get to Phoenix. We left Wheeler Ridge this morning at 9:05 am. The temperature was 59°. We try to avoid Los Angeles as much as possible even in the best of times, so today we came up with our own route to I-10. Continue reading
