From St Augustine, FL

There’s an interesting story about how we happen to be in St Augustine, FL tonight.  When we arrived in Edisto Island, SC and they were confirming the length of our stay there, it occurred to me that I hadn’t made a reservation to be anywhere on this evening.  Somehow in my planning for this trip I had missed this one night.   Continue reading

From Biddeford, ME

Sometimes dreams really do come true!  When I was in high school, a friend of mine and I got our hands on a road atlas and began dreaming about taking a trip around the country.  One place I desperately wanted go was Portland, Maine so that I could say I’d been to Portland’s on both sides of the country.  Today I fulfilled that dream, in a manner of speaking.  But my sister, Sherill, had also advised me on other places in Maine to see.  We sort of got to do that. From Poplar Bluff, MO

Fortunately, we didn’t have to drive as long today.  This was fortunate because we had to load everything up again after several days of being able to spread out a bit.  We stopped in briefly at the Workamper News office to thank them for the conference and then we tried to take a different route out of Heber Springs.   Continue reading

Kimba’s vet visit

I am beginning to see a trend in the Door County medical field.  Saturday morning I tried to go to the Aurora Nor-Door Clinic that was supposed to be open from 9:00-noon on Saturdays, but they were closed.  Today we needed a vet for Kimba and I called one whose advertising said he’d make house calls — in fact the name of his clinic is Pets-At-Home — but he asked us to come to his home.  Ah well, you do what you have to do! From San Antonio, TX

This morning was our last at Falster Farm.  We fed all the animals one last time and I took my last pictures of the place.  We managed to get out through the pasture and get my car loaded onto the tow dolly, but not without wrecking the bumper of my car.  We’ve been having a heck of a time with our vehicles lately! Happy birthday to me!

Today is my birthday!  Late yesterday afternoon my mother, stepfather, son and daughter-in-law came up to be with me through Mother’s Day.  Last night Aunt Marg and all the rest of us went to dinner at my favorite restaurant, Via Birch Bay Café and Bistro.  My family all got to see our new RV too.  It’s so good to have them here!
