Champoeg State Park was going to be full from tonight through Saturday night when Wendy first made a reservation for us this last week. This morning Mark and I went over to Mom’s house. She made lunch for us and started an unintentional fire, but Mark’s quick thinking saved the day. After lunch, he stayed and fixed her garbage disposal which hasn’t worked in several years. This afternoon, he was called to work. Continue reading

I got a job!
I have applied for several jobs this week as well as the one I applied for before we left Wisconsin, but I haven’t heard back from any of them. It occurred to me today that Mark got an immediate response from UPS when he applied, so I decided to apply there too. Continue reading
Mark got a job!
Mark had his interview this morning for the driver’s helper position at UPS. He got the job – yeah! – but it’s on-call and it only pays half as much as the other position he applied for. He found out today that the other position is already filled. Continue reading

In the middle of the night last night, sometime between 3:00 and 4:00 in the morning, we woke up to the sound of a couple fighting loudly outside our room. I think they had at least one teenaged son because I heard him tell his dad that he’d found something. I almost wondered if he was trying to pacify his dad to get him to stop yelling.
