A very full day

This morning, it occurred to me that we have kept studded tires for the pickup truck in my father’s garage for the last several years. Since we no longer have the truck, we should try to sell those. I talked with Mark, with Dad, and with Les Schwab where we bought the tires. Les Schwab won’t buy the tires back, but they did give me all the specs on them so we can try to sell them ourselves. That was only one of several pieces of business I had to take care of this morning.

The Longest Day

At lunchtime today, I had a video chat with Cari Josephson from the Alzheimer’s Association (AA). She had been given my name after I contacted the Association to make a proposal for a fundraiser for them. As it turns out, they have a fundraiser day on the summer solstice every year where people do something in whatever part of the country they’re in to try to raise money for the AA. Cari helped me register to participate and told me that I can do my fundraiser all year if I want, which is what I plan to do.

From Tucson, AZ

We’re here!  Thank you to those of you who were praying for safety for our trip.  I had a training to get to at 1:00 today, so we felt a little rushed.  We left Phoenix at 8:50 am.  The temperature was 49°.  Remember me saying I didn’t think I was going to need a sweater until I got back to Wisconsin?  I’m re-thinking that!  The temperature got up into the 70’s this afternoon, but when I came out of my training it was cooler and more comfortable.  Nights in the desert are colder, so I’m not putting my sweaters away yet. Outside my window

I don’t know if I mentioned that I am working in downtown Portland now and I am able to do all kinds of “People Watching”.  Our office is right on the sidewalk behind City Hall, and there are floor to ceiling windows, not only completely around our office (including out to the lobby), but also all across the lobby entrance.  So what do I see?
