Parting is such sweet sorrow

Mark left at 9:30 this morning headed toward Indiana.  I tried to delay him as long as possible so that I could have a little more time with him, but I should have let him go sooner because he didn’t reach his destination until 9:00 our time, 10:00 Eastern time.  Thankfully, he took Tucson with him. Biking along the Rillito River

Two or three weeks ago, Mark was working at a campground and he pulled into an empty lot across the street from the campground to let Tucson do her business.  She started wandering out into the desert and he followed her.  Something caught his eye so he walked over to see what it was and found a recumbent tricycle in pretty good condition lying out there.  It needed some repairs to the seat covers, both the seat and the seat back, but other than that, it was usable.  He brought it home and we fixed it up.  Ever since then, he’s been wanting to go on a bike ride with me. Zzzzz…

I know it seems like I’ve dropped off the face of the earth for the last couple of weeks, but I have a good reason.  I’ve been working.  The last two weeks, H&R Block has been in peak season.  I have been working four-day weeks, but in calculating my hours for the pay period yesterday, I discovered I had worked a little over 99 hours!   Continue reading
