Guest Blog: “Me” aka Mark Fuller

Hey, everbody!!  It’s Me!!!

Denise is feeling a bit overwhelmed and asked if I could do her blog for her tonight.  She wanted to write it last night, but the excitement of our boat ride caused her to run out of steam, even before she had time to finish editing all the pictures she took from our excursion.

Mother’s Day and the Big 6-0

Yesterday was Mother’s Day and I should have wished all you mothers out there a happy one, but I was too busy enjoying mine.  Sorry!  Today was my 60th birthday.  It was relatively normal with some special elements.  I have pictures from both days, although my pictures from today were taken on my phone and the quality isn’t quite as good. From Harris, MI

Today we crossed the Mackinac Bridge into the Upper Peninsula (UP) of Michigan.  We can now say that we have slept in all forty-nine continental states and we’ve seen four of the five Great Lakes.  (We saw Lake Huron while crossing the bridge today.  The only one we haven’t seen yet is Lake Superior.) I want to do it all!

This morning we met with Mary Beth and she took us on a tour of all the places we’ll be cleaning.  When we first talked with her in our phone interview, she said we’d be cleaning the bath houses, and I thought she said we’d be cleaning the activity center.  Today I realized she said the activity centers!  Remember all those shops I mentioned before?  The lapidary shop, the stained glass shop, the art center, etc, etc?  No wonder it’s going to be a forty hour a week job! Our last day of sightseeing on this trip

Today marks our last day of sightseeing on this trip.  We took advantage of it to see St Augustine.  First we visited the old jail, set up as it was in 1908. Continue reading
