Kimba’s vet visit

I am beginning to see a trend in the Door County medical field.  Saturday morning I tried to go to the Aurora Nor-Door Clinic that was supposed to be open from 9:00-noon on Saturdays, but they were closed.  Today we needed a vet for Kimba and I called one whose advertising said he’d make house calls — in fact the name of his clinic is Pets-At-Home — but he asked us to come to his home.  Ah well, you do what you have to do! Reunion recap

The day that Mom and I returned from Klamath Falls, I spent the night with my older sister Sherill, but I was too exhausted by the end of the day to write.  Then yesterday I flew home and there was the long drive home and the reunion with Mark, so I didn’t get to write.  So after my first day back at work, I’ve decided to do a recap of the highlights of my trip out west. Not all who wander are lost

Mark and I had looked for some Glucosamine at the two stores we usually go to in Sister Bay, but they didn’t have it so today we decided to look at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor.  We found it there and we should have gone straight home.  We intended to go straight home, but the weather was so beautiful today we started meandering around.  Here are pictures from today: Continue reading

The best laid plans…

Today was to have been our touring day and we loaded our bicycles on the back of the truck, but we never got “a round tuit”.  We did, however, take pictures of various stops we made on our way to and from the VA in Green Bay.  Here are today’s pictures… Continue reading

I knew there was something special about this place!

A couple days ago I went “visiting” to my new neighbors and co-workers.  I got to go inside Judy’s and Susan’s RVs, and as I was leaving Susan’s she said she had to plant some flowers in her yard.  I realized she was talking about the area outside her RV and I had an epiphany… Continue reading

Grocery stores

This is just a quicky about grocery stores.  I had mentioned that the Pioneer Store is probably the closest to us, but it’s not big enough to have all the things we need so we never go there.  We’ve been going to Piggly Wiggly.  I hadn’t been in one of those since I was growing up in Vancouver, WA.  That and Shopko (which is more a department store than a grocery store) have been our stores in Sister Bay since we’ve been here.  When we’re down in Sturgeon Bay we go to Walmart. To Green Bay and back

Mark had an appointment in Green Bay yesterday so we made the nearly two hour trip there for the day.  He had started fasting after 7:00 the previous night and his appointment wasn’t set till 12:30 so we were hoping he could have the lab work done early, but no such luck at this VA.  By the time he finally got to eat it was about 2:30!  At least we got some errands done before his appointment since we were in “the big city” so early.
