Mark and I had looked for some Glucosamine at the two stores we usually go to in Sister Bay, but they didn’t have it so today we decided to look at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor. We found it there and we should have gone straight home. We intended to go straight home, but the weather was so beautiful today we started meandering around. Here are pictures from today:
Main Street Market in Egg Harbor
Their beautiful meat display case
Their beautiful produce department
We got back up more in our neck of the woods and started exploring:
Carlson’s Island View Orchard store not far from us.
This building has housed everything from WWII German prisoners of war to migrant labor. Now it’s a store.
If these walls could talk!
There are about three inland lakes on the peninsula. This is Europe Lake just north of us.
A house on the lake
…Like a tree planted by the rivers of water…Ps 1:3a
You can just barely see the fish above their shadows. I saw hundreds of tiny fish in Europe Lake. I assume this means there are lots of big ones too.
There was a dragonfly buzzing back and forth and I wondered if I could catch a moving target. Not too bad!
We’ve been curious about a piece of property for sale where we couldn’t see the house. There was a cable across the driveway so we parked the truck and hiked in.
This was the house we found.
Overgrown front door
Flowers that must have been planted at one time and are now growing among weeds.
This looks like it was once a nice gate
One of the outbuildings
I’m not sure if this was the roof from the other building or if there is a collapsed building under this roof.
This outbuilding actually looks pretty good.
I’m thinking this must have been someone’s beloved pet. Mark thinks it might have been a family member.
What a beautiful wildflower!
And here are some flowers I’ve been seeing around Wagon Trail Campground lately:
Yellow lady’s slipper
I’m not sure what these are but they go back into the woods.
This is a flowering tree. I’ve seen other trees in different colors.
