We actually arrived in Tucson last evening, but one of our slideouts was broken so that we couldn’t open it, and we couldn’t find the hotspot in the jumble of things packed into our tight space. Mark managed to fix our slideout today and found the hotspot. It’s so handy to be married to an RV tech!

A beautiful funeral
Today was the day for Phung’s (pronounced Foam) funeral. She had asked everyone to dress as though they were going to a wedding, and the funeral itself was beautiful. Even the weather turned out to be lovely though cold.
Continue readingFamily help and friendly prayers!
Mark has a sister in Ogden, Sharon, who brought us her car to use for a couple of days, and her son, Trevor, is going to help her get around while we have her car. My family has also been helping us, and I also want to thank all of you who have been praying for us. All prayers are gratefully received!
Continue readingFrom Sherrill, IA
I love the name of this town, although it’s spelled a little differently from Sherill’s name. This is the name Mom derived Sherill’s name spelling from. Sherrill is located due north of Dubuque by a few miles and is situated right on the Mississippi River. We saw the reflection of the water in our headlights as we pulled in. Otherwise, it was completely dark outside!
Continue readingSaying our goodbyes
As I write this, Mark and I are going through Sturgeon Bay on our way out of Door County. I didn’t have a chance to write last night because we were so busy trying to get ready to leave, but I did want to mention one thing before we land somewhere tonight.
Continue readingLiberty Grove Historical Society Vintage Market – 2
Today was the last of two Vintage Markets held at the Liberty Grove Historical Society Museum. Last month, I tried to sell some of my Halloween kits; this month I tried to sell Thanksgiving and Christmas kits. I also carried over my Wanda’s Journey line and sold two of those, and I took a bunch of wooden hoop frames and sold several of them. I only made about half as much as I did last month. 🙁 One plus is that I finally figured out how to use the Square I bought for taking payments through my Etsy website. It was kind of nifty!
Continue readingOut and about
This weekend was the Marina Fest in Sister Bay, and BACA (Bikers Against Child Abuse) had a booth there. Yesterday morning, Mark and I had to get up an hour earlier than usual so that he could set up for it. He rode his motorcycle there and I brought the pickup with the tent and tables. On the way there, it poured down rain and he wasn’t wearing a helmet, so he got soaked! He was going to set the tent up by himself and it would be two hours before the rest of his group showed up. I came back later to have breakfast with him at the Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast. And then, yesterday afternoon, he took off for an overnighter at Reedsburg, WI where there was to be a Legacy Ride today.
Continue readingA day in the park
It seems we so seldom get a perfect day in Door County that when we do, we just have to do something outside. Mark and I had thought about working on our crafts when we got home from church, but the sun was warm, the humidity was low, and there didn’t even seem to be any mosquitoes out!
Continue readingDate night
I got free tickets at work to see a play at the Peninsula Players Theater in Juddville this evening. Mark and I made a date of it. The play was Tally’s Folly and it was rather disappointing from what we’ve seen there before but the date was not spoiled by that fact. We enjoyed what came before the show.
Continue readingYou know you live in a small town when…
On the very tip of the peninsula we live on, there’s a small town called Gills Rock. You can catch a passenger-only boat out to Washington Island from there. This little town has the best fireworks on the peninsula as far as I’m concerned!
