I am beginning to see a trend in the Door County medical field. Saturday morning I tried to go to the Aurora Nor-Door Clinic that was supposed to be open from 9:00-noon on Saturdays, but they were closed. Today we needed a vet for Kimba and I called one whose advertising said he’d make house calls — in fact the name of his clinic is Pets-At-Home — but he asked us to come to his home. Ah well, you do what you have to do! Continue reading

Touring Door County: Ellison Bay
Judy, the President of the Wisconsin denisefuller.com Fan Club, has recommended a couple times that I visit Seaquist in Ellison Bay. We did that today as well as seeing several other sites. But first, I have a picture from last night: Continue reading
An extreme weekend
I was so extremely busy over the 4th of July weekend that there was no time to write. For one thing, Mark had an eye appointment in Greenbay on Thursday so that took the better part of the day (it’s a four hour drive round trip). We had a lot of campers over the holiday weekend so things were busy on the job. Also, every chance I had to get on my laptop I was working on the report for Mark’s second mock inspection. But there were also some fun activities and I got pictures. Continue reading
Touring Door County: Bailey’s Harbor
I’ve been down with a cold for several days so although we did some sight seeing yesterday after church, it’s taken me a while to prepare this post. Continue reading
Happy Father’s Day!
I tried to call my father this afternoon to wish him a Happy Father’s Day but ended up having to leave a message on his answering machine. Even better than that, Jamey left a Happy Father’s Day message on our answering machine for Mark. I hope Dad gets as much pleasure from my message as Mark got from Jamey’s! Continue reading
The first day of summer
I’m not saying that it felt like summer today, but I had a bit of a glow on. I experienced some things today I’ve never experienced before…a turtle laying eggs and the burning of the winter witch! Continue reading
Not all who wander are lost
Mark and I had looked for some Glucosamine at the two stores we usually go to in Sister Bay, but they didn’t have it so today we decided to look at Main Street Market in Egg Harbor. We found it there and we should have gone straight home. We intended to go straight home, but the weather was so beautiful today we started meandering around. Here are pictures from today: Continue reading
Potluck
Today Tim and Kathy told us to just do a glorified walk-through of the bathrooms (what some would call “a lick and a promise”) so that we could participate in the annual potluck. This is when as many of the staff and the seasonals as are here get together for a party. Continue reading
First day on the job
The campground opens in two days and three people are registered to spend this weekend here, so today Mark and I started helping with cleaning in preparation for the beginning of the season. Continue reading
Exploring our surroundings
Mark’s first order of business this morning was to unload his Harley from the back of the truck. I don’t believe I’ve ever talked about what goes into this process. Here’s the story in pictures: Continue reading
