Fall Fest
Last weekend was the Pumpkin Patch in Baileys Harbor. This weekend is Fall Fest in Sister Bay. Next weekend will be the Fall Art Crawl in Ellison Bay. Then, the tourist season will be pretty much over! Everyone here is eager for the tourists to go away. I called one of the lodgings I call every week to find out what their availability is like, and I asked the hotel manager how he was doing. He said he wanted to crawl under his desk!

Well, we had aimed for getting out of here tomorrow, but it ain’t happening. Besides the fact that we still have a lot to do to get ready, Mark can’t find the keys to the RV ignition, so he had to call a locksmith. The locksmith is down in Green Bay and won’t be able to come up until tomorrow.
A slight delay
For those of you who knew that we were planning to leave on November 1st, I just want to let you know we are now aiming for the 2nd. We didn’t get through the long list of things we needed to do yesterday. Hopefully we can finish by tonight. Continue reading
Scattered to the wind
Last year and the year before, Mark and I were working at Wagon Trail Campground. Had we been there this year, Monday would have been our last day of work and we would have likely been heading out yesterday. All day Monday, I was thinking about my friends at Wagon Trail and wishing I could be with them at their staff party, but I’m not staff there anymore. Continue reading
Final weekend in Door County
I was sick for a week with the “company cold” (the staff has been passing it around), and this week Mark got it. We’ve been working on trying to get packed up to leave and campers keep coming and won’t be leaving till the day before we do, so things have been busy. Still, I’ve taken some time the last couple days to do some fun things while Mark had to stay home nursing his cold. Continue reading
