The one thing my father has most wanted Mark and I to see before we leave Tucson (the town, not the dog) is the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum. You may recall we set out to go once before and we got side-tracked by Old Tucson. We realized that it was now or never, so we went this afternoon in honor of Dad. Continue reading

From Tucson, AZ
We’re here! Thank you to those of you who were praying for safety for our trip. I had a training to get to at 1:00 today, so we felt a little rushed. We left Phoenix at 8:50 am. The temperature was 49°. Remember me saying I didn’t think I was going to need a sweater until I got back to Wisconsin? I’m re-thinking that! The temperature got up into the 70’s this afternoon, but when I came out of my training it was cooler and more comfortable. Nights in the desert are colder, so I’m not putting my sweaters away yet. From Portland, OR
I’m going to make this quick because I find myself falling asleep in front of my computer. A week on the road and crossing two time zones plus a change to Standard Time seems to be taking a toll on me.
Third time’s a charm?
We are still at home. Never having winterized a house before, Mark spent the day trying to drain all the water. I loaded a bunch of stuff into the RV and got the house clean, but the RV needs to be organized and Mark still has stuff to put in the RV as well. Now we are aiming to leave sometime tomorrow morning. At least we will be sleeping in the RV tonight as there is no water in the house. Hopefully by tomorrow night, I’ll be reporting from somewhere else!
Still in Ellison Bay
The night before last, Mark and I made a list of everything we need to do before we can leave. Yesterday we worked on it all day and only accomplished a little less than half the list. Today we worked on it and got most of the way through the remainder, but there is still some left. Continue reading
A slight delay
For those of you who knew that we were planning to leave on November 1st, I just want to let you know we are now aiming for the 2nd. We didn’t get through the long list of things we needed to do yesterday. Hopefully we can finish by tonight. Continue reading
The infestation
When I was a kid, my friends and I used to sing a spoof on the National Anthem:
O say can you see any bed bugs on me?
If you can, pick a few, for I got them from you!
A few pics…
I don’t have a lot to report, but I do have a few pictures to share… Continue reading
How we spent the 4th of July
Yesterday (July 4th), Mark and I worked so hard that I wasn’t up to writing last night, but I have pictures to show how we spent our day off work. Continue reading
Moving in
Saturday, we finally got all the bedding washed and put on the bed, and then we moved in. Continue reading
