Mother’s Day Weekend

This morning was the start of Sunday morning breakfasts for the season at Marval, and it’s the only weekend when moms get to eat free with a paying family member, so Mark and I headed over so we could have breakfast at 7:30 before starting work at 8:00.  For $5.00 (the price of Mark’s meal) Mark had eggs, sausage and biscuit, and orange juice.  I had a biscuit with sausage gravy and a sausage patty as well as orange juice and chocolate milk.  It was a filling breakfast, and so nice not to have to fix breakfast and do dishes! That darn cat!

Last evening Mark and I had the front door open but the screen door shut to let in a cool breeze.  We were both working on our laptops with our backs to the door.  I should have known something was wrong when I kept having to swat at one flying bug after another.  When we finally did turn around and look, the screen door was wide open and Dobby was nowhere to be seen. Great balls of fire!

Happy President’s Day!

From Twin Rocks, OR

I hope you all had a Happy Valentines Day yesterday.  Mark and I went to the restaurant where we took my pastor after he married us in Clackamette Park.  We were remembering that after we were married and we took him out for dessert he said, “Well, now that I’ve married you, I should ask some questions.”  He did the whole pre-marital counseling thing after the fact! More family

Yesterday Mark and I had to take the RV in to get the air conditioning checked before spending a summer in Oklahoma.  The mechanics didn’t want to have to deal with our cats, so we took the unfortunate creatures over to my dad’s house.  I thought the cats would enjoy some time in a house that has lots of room and doesn’t move, but apparently they’ve gotten used to the RV and Kimba hid the whole time.
