I never know who is reading my blog, so I like hearing from my readers. Yesterday I had a pleasant surprize. Continue reading
Game night
For the past two days I’ve been working on editing, and Mark has been running errands. It was time for a little fun. Jamey had sent out a general invitation for a game night at his office, so we decided to go. Continue reading
Happy President’s Day!
This afternoon my mother had an ice cream social for the whole family. It was partly for my brother-in-law’s birthday, and partly as a farewell party for Mark and me since we don’t know when we’ll be back again. It being President’s Day, my nephew, Nate, and his parents didn’t have school. It was wonderful to have all my family together, laughing and catching up with each other. Here’s a picture: Continue reading
From Milwaukie, OR
Mark and I are parked in my sister, Sherill’s, driveway for the duration. (That phrase — “For the duration” — is, I believe, from WWII.) We will be here until we leave for Oklahoma. Continue reading
From Twin Rocks, OR
I hope you all had a Happy Valentines Day yesterday. Mark and I went to the restaurant where we took my pastor after he married us in Clackamette Park. We were remembering that after we were married and we took him out for dessert he said, “Well, now that I’ve married you, I should ask some questions.” He did the whole pre-marital counseling thing after the fact! Reassessing our needs
My brother-in-law loaned us his truck today so that we could take some things they were storing for us to our storage unit. We took the opportunity to again give thought to what we need to have with us and what we want to keep in storage. Continue reading
God continues to pour out blessings on us…
I mentioned recently that Mark and I had dinner at the home of friends from his ward, Linnell and Craig Mikkelsen. What I didn’t mention was that as we were leaving Linnell gave us a carton of eggs from the chickens she raises. Continue reading
Family is what it’s all about
I’ve been making up for lost time with my family, and to some extent, Mark’s. It’s been a few days since I last posted, so here’s what’s been going on: Continue reading
More family
Yesterday Mark and I had to take the RV in to get the air conditioning checked before spending a summer in Oklahoma. The mechanics didn’t want to have to deal with our cats, so we took the unfortunate creatures over to my dad’s house. I thought the cats would enjoy some time in a house that has lots of room and doesn’t move, but apparently they’ve gotten used to the RV and Kimba hid the whole time. Continue reading
From Oregon City
This morning we got up and got the RV all set up for another move. We left Silver Falls State Park and came up to “Our Park” in Oregon City — Clackamette Park at the confluence of the Willamette River and the Clackamas River. I said in my last post I’d tell the story of how this came to be our park. Continue reading
