First day of school

This morning I went with Mark to the first session of his class.  When I said the Workamper.com RV and Workamper News car belonged to Terry Cooper, I was wrong.  They belong to the president of Workamper.com, Steve Anderson.  Terry Cooper and his wife, whom everyone calls Lady E, are in a fifth wheel right next to Steve and his wife. A test for our chicken coop

This afternoon as Mark and I were working on the chicken coop, big black clouds were gathering in the northwestern sky.  The wind began to rock the coop.  We had brittle fiberglass roofing on one side and we were beginning to lay corrugated metal on the other.  Then it began to rain.  We finally went to our RV and from there we could see the rain coming in sideways.  I felt like singing, “Oh say can you see if our roof is still there?” Continue reading

We planned a short day of travel today and it was a good thing.  This morning Mark was catching a heavy crosswind from the southeast that made driving difficult.  We stopped once to get gas and a little after that we stopped at a rest area so he could relax his grip.  Fortunately, as soon as we left the rest area the highway turned southeast so the wind wasn’t hitting us broadside. A frustrating day was had by all

This morning when we arrived at work at 6:30, we learned that our piler was down.  There is something called a Lovejoy on it which sounds like it should be a wonderful thing, but that’s what was broken.  While the mechanic worked on it we cleaned the piler and greased it until there wasn’t really anything more we could find to do on it, so we went to our cars and waited…and waited…and waited.
