This afternoon we left Green Bay, WI and headed northeast up the peninsula that divides Green Bay (the actual bay) and Lake Michigan. Part way up the peninsula we entered Door County, a place we’ve been told is very popular, very beautiful, and has lots of things to see and do. Continue reading

In Graceland, in Graceland
I’m going to Graceland
For reasons I cannot explain
There’s some part of me wants to see Graceland
And I may be obliged to defend
Every love, every ending
Or maybe there’s no obligations now
Maybe I’ve a reason to believe
We all will be received
In Graceland

New bike!
Just a quickie to brag on what my husband did tonight: He bought me a new bicycle because I’ve been trying to get more active and get in shape again. I’ve been doing a fair amount of walking since I’ve gotten my SparkPeople Activity Tracker, but it will track bicycling too. Plus, Mark got me an odometer that tracks calories burned and distance and stuff like that. He is so supportive of my desire to become fit again!
Home improvement
I hadn’t realized it’s been a week since I last blogged, but there didn’t seem to be much to blog about. Looking back over the week I realized we have actually done a fair amount this week. Movers and shakers
We knew when we got up this morning that it was going to be a busy day, but it was even busier than we originally thought it was going to be. Continue reading
Starting the New Year out with new things
When my nephew, Nate, was young, my sister Lauryn decided to do the gift giving on New Years Eve so that the family could focus on Christ’s birth on Christmas. She figured it would be appropriate to start the New Year with new things, so the biggest family party of the year has ever since been New Years Eve with Lauryn as the hostess extraordinaire. The food was always fantastic, but the biggest event was the gift exchange, especially the white elephant exchange. Her parties were always the highlight of the year. Continue reading
Merry Christmas/Happy New Year
Thank you to those of you who have sent us Christmas cards and newsletters (or in one case, a newspaper). I have been holding some of them till today so that I’d be in the Christmas spirit when I read them. Continue reading
