Calling all Christians everywhere…
I am using my blog today to ask all believers to help me. I have been, as I’m sure many of you have, horrified by what ISIS is doing. Now they have captured a large number of Christians and I feel we should be doing something about it, so I am asking you to reach out with me and spread this blog to as many Christians as you know. Continue reading
Progress made
For the most part today, Mark and I stayed home and worked on various projects. A couple things happened to make this a good day. Continue reading
Recognizing Christ
Today was bitterly cold with heavy winds that blew through our tent. Our boss told us to mark all our trees and wreaths at half price, and even at that people tried to get us to let them have a tree for less! At some point today a couple walked in. The man was blind in one eye and they both looked hard up. The first thing the man said to me was, “We’ve had a bad year. We’re hoping you have a small tree.” I showed them our only table top tree which is flocked, and at half price it was $25, but that was obviously too much for them and they left, looking rather dejected. First day of school
This morning I went with Mark to the first session of his class. When I said the Workamper.com RV and Workamper News car belonged to Terry Cooper, I was wrong. They belong to the president of Workamper.com, Steve Anderson. Terry Cooper and his wife, whom everyone calls Lady E, are in a fifth wheel right next to Steve and his wife. Continue reading
From Canton, TX
Mark has told me that when he was a long-haul trucker, he never made it through Austin without going through stop-and-go traffic. There was even a time when it took him three hours to get through Austin. This being Sunday, we decided to get up early and try to get through Austin before noon. Continue reading
The holy Sabbath
In spite of the warmth and the cloudless skies of yesterday, when Mark and I went to bed last night we heard rain on our roof. It rained off and on all night. Mark didn’t sleep well last night so he can testify to that. Continue reading
A series of fortunate events!
I had promised my co-worker, Kay, that I’d cover for her leaving early (her last day was Saturday the 30th) since she covered for me taking an extra day to go to Valdez. However, as I got to talking with Rose about working today, I realized that she is going to be very short-staffed tomorrow (Monday the 1st) so I offered to come in then instead. I had originally thought Mark could just attend his church while I worked today, but since I didn’t have to go to work after all I went with him this morning. Continue reading
Many beloved hymns
Wow! I had quite the response to my request for the words to your favorite hymns! I received words to a number of hymns I don’t think I’ve ever heard before, but the words are wonderful. I’ll try seeing if I can find the hymns on Spotify or YouTube so I can hear the tunes. Thank you to all of you who sent me so many great hymns!
Business is winding down
The summer is winding down and business has been so slow that most of the time there isn’t a need for two people in the office. The last couple days I’ve spent most of the day outside picking up trash by hand. Continue reading
