The cone of shame!

I guess I haven’t mentioned yet that we ended up keeping Tucson.  I had gotten a call from a neighbor saying that she’d heard of someone who might be interested in meeting Tucson, so I was getting all set to get rid of her, but Mark was really depressed.  He loves her.  To his credit, he wasn’t going to stop me from giving her away after what she did to me, but he was miserable.  I finally told him if he can take her to work with him and everywhere else he goes, he can keep her.  He took the passenger seat out of his work truck to accommodate her and he has been good at taking full responsibility for her. Butterfly float at Fall Fest won 1st prize!

OK, so it’s not the Rose Festival Parade or the Macy’s Parade, but we know how to have parades in Door County.  My boss at Door County North (where I work in the Visitor Center) wanted to advertise the things the Ellison Bay Beautification Project has been doing in downtown Ellison Bay, particularly the new butterfly mural on one of the buildings.  So she organized a butterfly float for the Fall Fest Parade in Sister Bay this last weekend and someone caught it on video.  My boss, Mickie, is the leading butterfly… Continue reading

Autumn

I’m not exactly sure which season I like best, but right at the moment, fall is my favorite.  People come to the peninsula in October to observe the autumn colors.  I have been driving around with my camera for the last week or so in case there’s something I want to shoot, and I’ve been glad to have my camera along many times. Through the woods

I have known for a while that there is a snow mobile trail in the woods behind Lynn’s and Karen’s house, but I had never ventured far enough onto their property to find it.  Yesterday, Lynn and her dog, Sasha, took Tucson and me for a walk there and I discovered that the trail led to the field behind the fire station where I work.  This morning, I decided to walk to work.
