At the beginning of this week, our weather turned decidedly autumnal. One night, we had a rip-roaring thunder storm and a deluge to go with it. Our electricity flicked off and on a couple times, but for the most part, it stayed on. I stood under the eaves of the house and tried to get pictures. Continue reading

Becoming extraneous
I am trying to write this blog on my phone because I’m not home. I had gotten back from my father’s party last Tuesday. I am back in Oregon again as of Monday this week. Continue reading
Our 10th anniversary
I didn’t write about this last night because I was obviously busy, but June 13th was Mark’s and my tenth wedding anniversary. I had thought for several months about what I’d like to do for such a momentous occasion, but in the end we had to scale down our plans. It still turned out to be good. Continue reading
I feel good!
I have been sick with a bad cold which I caught from Mark who caught it from Jamey last week. Today was the first day I felt well enough to leave the house. Continue reading
Family visit
I saw Jamey and Sage off this afternoon, so now there’s time to reflect on their visit… Continue reading
Through the woods
I have known for a while that there is a snow mobile trail in the woods behind Lynn’s and Karen’s house, but I had never ventured far enough onto their property to find it. Yesterday, Lynn and her dog, Sasha, took Tucson and me for a walk there and I discovered that the trail led to the field behind the fire station where I work. This morning, I decided to walk to work. Yard work and a meeting

It was every bit as cold in the house this morning, but there was a warm breeze outside. I opened all the windows and doors to let the heat in, and then I went outside to work in the yard. Continue reading
HOME, SWEET HOME!
Mark and I could feel our excitement rising throughout the day today as we got closer and closer to home. Even when I had a migraine, I was glad to be back in familiar territory, and Mark was positively giddy! Tucson was every bit as happy as we’d been hoping all along she’d be. I guess the cats were happy too, but they were too suave to show it. Continue reading
From Dubuque, IA
We almost pushed past Dubuque today because we could, but Mark is getting kind of worn out, so we decided to make a relatively short day of it. Continue reading
From Lincoln, NE
Weather reports lie! The reason Mark and I drove to Denver last night was because the weather forecast said temperatures would remain above freezing, but when we got up this morning, it was snowing. It wasn’t sticking to the ground, but it was piling up on cars and such. Mark said it had been snowing each of the two times he got up with Tucson during the night. When we left Denver at 10:15 this morning, it was 35° out. Continue reading
