I hired three men today. I’ve never done that before so I hope I got some good ones! Continue reading

A frustrating day was had by all
This morning when we arrived at work at 6:30, we learned that our piler was down. There is something called a Lovejoy on it which sounds like it should be a wonderful thing, but that’s what was broken. While the mechanic worked on it we cleaned the piler and greased it until there wasn’t really anything more we could find to do on it, so we went to our cars and waited…and waited…and waited. From Coeur d’Alene, ID (actually Hayden)
Yesterday Mark paid for a brand new tow dolly still in the box at Camping World in Burlington, WA, and they promised they’d have it ready for pick up today by noon. We ran a couple errands in Lynden and then drove down to pick up our new tow dolly. Continue reading
Guest Blog: Mark Fuller
Hey everyone!!
Bet you’re all wondering why Denise hasn’t posted a blog in a while?? Well, her hands have been giving her problems since we left Reno, NV. Once we arrived here in beautiful Lynden, WA., we got her in to see a hand specialist. After checking Denise’s hands, this specialist referred her to an other specialist who works on the therapeutic side of the specialty. After about a month worth of therapeutic treatments, there has been little to no improvement… Continue reading
Keeping the lines of communication open
We have been polling other Workampers for some time about what the best phone service is. We’ve also asked when interviewing for various jobs. One person would say AT&T and another would say Verizon. We had just AT&T, but last night we walked into a Verizon store. Continue reading
Roughing it!
I haven’t heard exactly how low the temperature got last night, but it was either at 0 or below 0. By the time we were out running errands this morning it was up to 8 degrees. Continue reading
Our weekend
Yesterday, Wednesday, we went down to the Activity Center as plain old campers so that I could spread out some fabric I got for a skirt I want to make for Western Weekend. I also wanted to be there in case Cathy had any questions because it was her first time of running the place by herself. She did have a few questions, but on the whole she seemed to be doing okay. Home repairs
Yesterday we broke camp to drive up the hill and fill our propane tank. It’s a rather arduous procedure that includes putting the cats in our car because no living thing is supposed to be in the RV when they’re filling the propane. We have to bring in the slide-out and the awnings and lift up the levelers. Mark also attached the nozzle that will allow us to use an external propane tank from now on so we won’t have to break camp every time we need propane. Continue reading
Baby, it’s cold outside!
The temperatures today were in the 30s. We have not had a working furnace for the last five months, so we’ve been heating our RV with space heaters. However, we’ve had a sort of breakthrough this week. Tuesday evening we participated in a webinar by Workamper News on RV maintenance. We submitted a question when we registered for the webinar and the speaker, Terry Cooper, answered it. Continue reading
