I know…you all had a lot of snow recently, so snow doesn’t seem like much to you. But when we woke up and saw snow this morning, it was the first we’d seen since Reno. I have been working on insulating our front window curtains, but it’s been slow going with my hands in braces. Mark suggested I try to finish today. Continue reading

Walk on through the storm
Last night as we were driving over to my Aunt Marg’s house, we saw a flash of lightning to the east. We were taking a movie over to watch with my aunt, Iron Lady, about Margaret Thatcher. During the movie, the wind blew Marg’s gas fireplace pilot light out. When we came home and went to bed, it was still stormy and blowing around our RV. Continue reading
A busy winter’s day
Mark discovered first thing this morning that we had no running water. When he switched us to our water tank we had water. He says that unlike the old RV, this water tank is further inside the RV so it didn’t freeze. Continue reading
New news!
Mark and I have been working on something for the last week that I’ve been keeping hush-hush about until it came to fruition. Today we signed the papers for a 2005 Georgie Boy Pursuit RV! Continue reading
More pics
Mark and I have been carrying the camera around with us since Sunday, looking for pictures of the Lynden area. Lynden should hire us to be their tourism promoters! Continue reading
Birch Bay and the birds
After spending a good part of the day today looking for work, which I won’t bore you with again, Mark and I drove back to our place along the bay. There was a bit of sunshine and the tide was out, so we stopped and Mark grabbed our camera and started shooting pictures. I stepped down onto the beach for a bit and looked for shells. While I was doing that, a brown seagull landed fairly close to me and stood there looking me over. I told him or her that I was safe and the seagull sat down just as comfortable as you please! Running around like chickens with our heads cut off
For the past couple days we’ve been doing a lot of running around with not much to show for it. Continue reading
Here’s hoping…
This morning we got word that the aerial photography job isn’t going to pan out right now. I think he needed someone who could work out of a different part of Washington but we want to stay in this area because it’s closest to the route we’ll be taking to Alaska in a few months. Continue reading
Busy, busy, busy!
This morning Mark and I got up and drove over to Aunt Marg’s house where we had left the U-Haul truck for the night. We picked it up and took it to our new storage unit. Our old storage unit was 10×10 and the U-Haul truck was a 14 foot. Our new storage unit is 10×20. We’ve filled all the walls, but the center is still open. We plan to go through everything we’re carrying in the RV and see what else we can store that we thought we’d need with us. Continue reading
We’re official now
We’ve been busy the last two days. Yesterday we rented a storage unit, so now we sort of have property in Lynden. Today we went and got new drivers licenses. While we were there they signed us up as Washington voters, so we are officially Washingtonians now. Continue reading
