Fritz-o-rama

With apologies to my readers back home, I’m going to post a bunch of pictures of people you don’t know!  This is because today there was a potluck of staff and seasonals and included was a retirement party for a man who hasn’t worked here most of the summer.  He had camped and worked here for many years and started the summer with us, but for various reasons he had to retire before the summer even started.  Many people here love Fritz so this was his official send-off.  Several of those people will be reading this blog, so this one’s for them!  (Those of you back home are welcome to read it too, though!)  And without further ado, here are the pictures: Continue reading

We’re not the only ones who work around here!

I thought I should tell a little bit about what the others do around here since the season is winding down.  Actually it isn’t going to feel much like it’s winding down this weekend because we have sixty three campers checking in for Labor Day weekend today. Continue reading

An extreme weekend

Today was to have been our touring day and we loaded our bicycles on the back of the truck, but we never got “a round tuit”.  We did, however, take pictures of various stops we made on our way to and from the VA in Green Bay.  Here are today’s pictures… Continue reading

A day apart and coming together again

Mark spent the entire day on his Harley, going to Green Bay to get new tires and then stopping at the Wisconsin Motorcycle Memorial.  When he returned it was dinner time so we went out to Al Johnson’s Swedish Restaurant & Butik in Sister Bay.  Here are images from today: Continue reading

Grocery stores

This is just a quicky about grocery stores.  I had mentioned that the Pioneer Store is probably the closest to us, but it’s not big enough to have all the things we need so we never go there.  We’ve been going to Piggly Wiggly.  I hadn’t been in one of those since I was growing up in Vancouver, WA.  That and Shopko (which is more a department store than a grocery store) have been our stores in Sister Bay since we’ve been here.  When we’re down in Sturgeon Bay we go to Walmart.
