This morning we went to church with Steve and Bernice. They had warned us that it was big. Even at that, I wasn’t prepared for how huge it is. It’s called Northland Distributed Church because simultaneously with one of the two services in this building, it’s being broadcast (distributed) live to branch churches all over the country.

Farmer’s market
For those of you in colder climes who are starved for color and light, we went with Steve and Bernice to their favorite farmer’s market this morning and I took lots of pictures. Continue reading
The Warbird Air Museum
Mark and I slept in this morning, and when we got up and ready we called my cousin, Steve. He and Bernice came to spend the day with us to do whatever we wanted to do. Mark wanted to see the Warbird Air Museum. Continue reading
From Titusville, FL
This being Thanksgiving, there wasn’t much traffic on the roads. I glory in the change of scenery and the warmth. This is the first Thanksgiving ever where I wore short sleeves and shorts to dinner! Continue reading
From Brunswick, GA
We crossed two state borders today, skipping over South Carolina. We will be back in a week or so, but we are in a hurry to spend Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family in Orlando tomorrow. By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I trust you will be with family and enjoying the food, the fellowship, and “the game” (whichever one you watch). Continue reading
From Harper’s Ferry, WV
In 1976, when my family came to Harper’s Ferry, it was dusk, but I had the impression that it was a beautiful, quaint little town. I seem destined to arrive here at dusk, but I had a very good reason for arriving at dusk this time… Continue reading
Happy Friday the Thirteenth!
Friday the thirteenth has been a lucky day for Mark and me ever since we eloped in June of 2008. Today was fairly lucky for me too. I found some information on my Westcott ancestors. Continue reading
From Middletown, RI
This morning’s drive was our shortest yet. It took us just under an hour to get from Middleborough, MA to Middletown, RI! We plan on staying here for two nights so I can research some of my family history. By the way, before we left our campsite this morning, we found out that the weather we experienced yesterday was only a very mild nor’easter. I’d hate to see a normal one! Continue reading
From Middleborough, MA
Today we touched on three states: Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts. The weather was extremely wet and windy, but we intrepid travelers managed to get some sightseeing in before dark. I must say, though, that I’ve noticed in the last several days that the sky seems to start darkening around 3:00 in the afternoon. It may not be completely dark till 5:00, but it does make for some rather dismal pictures. Continue reading
From Shelburne, VT
We left Old Forge, NY this morning and continued eastward through the Adirondack Mountains. The further in we got, the prettier the scenery. As soon as we hit I-87, our GPS sent us north on it. I said, “Really? I was expecting to keep heading east on 8.” Mark was just happy to be on a highway again, but when I found out that the GPS was going to send us ninety miles out of the way, I asked Mark to turn off at the next exit. He was skeptical, but he made the turn. As soon as he did, our ETA went from sometime after 4:00 to sometime before 3:00, and the roads weren’t as bad as he had expected. I just didn’t want to waste the gas to go almost up to the Quebec border and then have to come back down the other side to a place not far from us! Continue reading
