The VA rose garden
Mark had to have a procedure done at the VA hospital this morning. As we were walking into the building, I noticed a sign that pointed to a rose garden, so when they sent me away, I went looking for it.

There is a woman named Kiki Rogers who lives in the parking lot with us behind the church. She recently invited me to a Women’s Safety Forum and I said I would enjoy going with her. Come to find out, she was the moderator, so we got there early to set up for the forum.

I haven’t particularly felt any grief over the loss of my father; whether it’s because I left no unfinished business with him when I flew back to Tucson, whether it was because I knew when I left Oregon that I would probably never see him again and said my goodbyes then, or because I am in shock and it doesn’t seem real yet. But I have received a lot of support and condolences from my friends. Thank you to those of you who have sent me cards and condolences too!

Something to do
Yesterday, Mark told me he and Pastor Adam were going to go out to a site to look at some steel that’s being donated to the church. I asked if I could go and he asked why I wanted to go. I said, “For something to do.” He warned me there might be scorpions and rattlesnakes and I said, “I’ll wear my boots!” I got to go.
