The VA rose garden

Mark had to have a procedure done at the VA hospital this morning. As we were walking into the building, I noticed a sign that pointed to a rose garden, so when they sent me away, I went looking for it.

For a while, I sat on a bench in the shade because it was so hot out.

While I was sitting on the bench, the noon bells rang and it was so peaceful I had to record it: https://photos.app.goo.gl/d5nBCrToqZYpYgtr9.

Finally, I decided to get up and walk around the courtyard to see the roses.

The view to my right as I walked down the steps into the courtyard
One rose bush with many colors!
There was a pleasant courtyard where people could go to have their lunch.
A rose as ageless as Dick Clark himself.

About the time I got around the courtyard, the bells were ringing 1:00 and I decided I had better try to find our car. The nurse had told me that they’d call me 10 minutes before Mark was brought down to the entrance for me to pick him up. I don’t know if I went out the wrong door or what, but it felt like I wandered halfway around the campus before I even found the lot I remembered us parking in earlier. I was getting very hot by the time I found our lot, and then I thought I could just go to the row I thought we were parked in and find our car. Not so! I wandered up and down several rows and couldn’t find our car, so I decided to push the unlock button on my key fob. I heard the beep a little bit away, so I walked in the direction I heard it and tried the unlock button again. The beep seemed closer, so I walked a little bit more and tried the button again. I finally found our car!

I wasn’t in the car long when the nurse called to tell me that Mark was getting dressed and would be out in 10 or 15 minutes. I told her what parking lot I was in and asked her how to get to the circle where I was supposed to pick him up. She gave me directions, but I was still uncertain of where I was going. Finally, I saw the circle outside the main door of the hospital and Mark was there waiting for me. So much for all the calm I had acquired in the rose garden, but once I saw Mark, I felt much better! He was fine but extremely hungry and a little bit fuzzy in the head, so he helped me find a Panda Express and he enjoyed getting to have his first solid meal in a day and a half! That helped some with his fuzzy-headedness! He seems to be back to normal tonight.
