Mark and I were both watching to see when Tucson would start to recognize where she was.

From Sparta, WI
We are finally in our home state again. Tomorrow night, we’ll be home!
Continue readingWednesday in Oregon
This morning, I texted with Wendy and she was doing well enough to have me come over. In fact, as Mark said later, other than the scarf on her head, she didn’t look sick. I was so happy to see her!

This morning, Mark had put a collar and leash on Tucson to take her out and do her thing, but she got spooked by something and wouldn’t go out. He left the collar and leash on her when he left to get Mom and told me not to take Tucson out before he got back. Mark took Mom to the DEQ to get her license, but the line was so long that Mom decided to try again tomorrow and get there before they open, so Mark headed back to get me.

Last time, I left you with an image of our pantry and food all over the floor. Mark worked hard to rebuild it.

Jose showed us videos that his nephew has been taking of the funeral.

Several weeks ago, we noticed that Kimba wasn’t finishing her food as she usually did. A couple of weeks ago, we were concerned enough to make an appointment for her to see a vet, but we couldn’t get her in until this last Monday. By then, she had stopped eating altogether and she was having difficulty breathing.

I can’t recall if I’ve mentioned that we have neighbors on either side of us here behind the church this year. To our right (looking from the inside toward the windshield), we have a 5th wheel with a youngish man living in it. His name is Davis. To our left, in a 24-foot trailer, are Serenity and Jose. The 2 couples haven’t really had a chance to get to know Davis very well, so tonight, I called everyone together for a neighborhood block party!

Serenity and I had some plans for today, starting with doing our laundry at the laundromat, but while we were there, I had a blood sugar drop, so Serenity suggested we just go back home and do something low-key today.
