NRVIA training

We had an opportunity to sleep in this morning which helped considerably when we went to the training this afternoon.  The training ran from 1:00 to about 5:45 and it mostly covered stuff we had already learned about how to do an inspection report.  There have been some improvements made to the template even since we did our mock inspections this summer, so it was good to see those.  They also acknowledged some of the glitches I had been having trouble with when I did the reports from our mock inspections but didn’t seem to have fixes for those yet.   Continue reading

Public restroom etiquette

As our job here winds down and we anticipate cleaning bathrooms in Florida this winter, I thought I’d pass on some sage advice about public restroom etiquette.  Years ago as a young wife and mother, I went to a series of Christian Homemaker classes led by a woman named Bobbi Hassman.  I will never forget her recruiting us into the Public Restroom Beautification Program.  She said we should always leave a public restroom looking neater than we found it and I have always tried to do that…pick up a paper towel from the floor, wipe off the countertop, etc.  Here are some tips from my experience this summer: Continue reading

Touring Door County: Washington Island

So far we have done all our Door County exploration on the peninsula, but there is an island off the tip of the peninsula that is part of Door County as well.  On Wednesday we took the ferry there and spent the day exploring the island.  It took me all that evening to download, edit and export the pictures we had taken, so today I can finally write about it. Reunion recap

The day that Mom and I returned from Klamath Falls, I spent the night with my older sister Sherill, but I was too exhausted by the end of the day to write.  Then yesterday I flew home and there was the long drive home and the reunion with Mark, so I didn’t get to write.  So after my first day back at work, I’ve decided to do a recap of the highlights of my trip out west. Forewarning

Today was the last day of our work week, but this weekend isn’t going to be fun and games as usual.  Remember all that training Mark got to be an RV inspector?  He’s been working on his final training and the next two days he has to do two premier mock inspections.  We are going to be so busy I doubt I’ll have time to write, so this is a brief check in. Continue reading

A-liners

This weekend we have a group of A-liners staying at Wagon Trail Campground.  They’re having an A-liner rally.  They’ve been coming in throughout the week, but today most of the rest of them arrived.  “What is an A-liner?” you might be asking yourself.  I grabbed a picture off Google images to show you: Continue reading

From De Pere, WI

I’ve been remiss in writing since we left Minneapolis last week.  When we first got to De Pere (just south west of Green Bay, WI) we had a couple deadlines hanging over our heads, and when we managed to get those done, there didn’t seem to be much to write about. Continue reading

From Little Rock, AR

Last night several of us class members initiated a new fire ring Mark and I got and roasted marshmallows.  We stayed up late talking, and then this morning everyone helped each other get ready to leave.  Ricky and Mike helped Mark load his Harley into the truck and then we said our goodbyes to them.  Lance drove by and wished us luck in our business and safety in our travels.  Then I went over to Bob and Sally’s RV and knocked on the door.  Bob came out and chatted with us for a while.  He said he would recommend all of us to RVIC if we all wanted to contract with them.  After all the goodbyes, we hit the road. Continue reading
