Job hunting

Now that we have settled into the campground near Mom, it’s time to look for work.  Mark came knowing that he will be working at UPS for the Christmas season.  We were both hoping to be working by Monday, October 31st, but we found out this morning that his job won’t start till November 14th.  That leaves me to come up with something quick.

God’s provision for us

We went to my church, Community Friends Church, yesterday.  In the “programmed” Friends meetings, there is a time for open worship.  This is a designated five or ten minute period of silence where people can talk about what God is doing in their lives, ask for prayer, read a passage of scripture, sing, or whatever they feel moved by the Spirit to do.  So I shared about coming to the point of thanking God that we won’t be able to come back to Wagon Trail Campground next year and that my life is in upheaval and I don’t know what He’s doing, but deciding to trust Him. A sort of fasting and a pouring down of blessings

Yesterday (Monday) Mark had an orientation at the VA in the morning and I slept in.  When I got up I waited till a reasonable hour Pacific Time and called my older sister to discuss some neat things I’ve been learning in my women’s Bible study.  While I talked with her on the phone I had cold pizza from the day before and a Coke.  After Mark’s orientation, he went to McDonalds for lunch and then made a couple “guy” stops.  Little did we know that those lunches would be the last real meals we’d have for over 24 hours. Christmas message

Tonight we got off work early so we could attend the candlelight service at the Sun N Fun Community Church.  It took some time to get from work to Woodland Hall where the service was being held, but we were there before I was scheduled to do my reading.  I had been assigned to read John 1:1-14.  I memorized the whole thing in advance, but took my Bible up to make sure I didn’t forget anything.  We recreated my reading here at home for your listening pleasure: Continue reading
