This morning, Mark and I packed up the truck and put the dog in the back and headed out. This is the first time in several years that we have traveled east from Portland through the gorge, and I had almost forgotten how beautiful it is. There were signs of the fire that burned in the area, but it is still beautiful and I could barely put my camera down. Continue reading

The Oregon Trail
I’m beginning to leave a trail in the air between Wisconsin and Oregon. I am leaving in the morning to go back to Oregon and I won’t be back to Wisconsin until next spring. Continue reading
Home again
I actually returned home late Tuesday night, but this is the first time I’ve had a chance to sit down and write since I got back. I am at my own computer now, so I have an opportunity to send the pictures I took while I was gone. Continue reading
Becoming extraneous
I am trying to write this blog on my phone because I’m not home. I had gotten back from my father’s party last Tuesday. I am back in Oregon again as of Monday this week. Continue reading
Dad’s birthday
My father turned 90 on June 25th, but he had a big bash on the 24th. I had known about this in advance, of course, but I was having trouble finding tickets I could afford. Dad helped me get there for which I am grateful. Here are some pics from my trip… Continue reading
CTA cruise
When Mark and I were still working at Wagon Trail Campground, our boss sent the whole staff to get training to be a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA). Family visit

HOME, SWEET HOME!
Mark and I could feel our excitement rising throughout the day today as we got closer and closer to home. Even when I had a migraine, I was glad to be back in familiar territory, and Mark was positively giddy! Tucson was every bit as happy as we’d been hoping all along she’d be. I guess the cats were happy too, but they were too suave to show it. Continue reading
From Dubuque, IA
We almost pushed past Dubuque today because we could, but Mark is getting kind of worn out, so we decided to make a relatively short day of it. Continue reading
From Lincoln, NE
Weather reports lie! The reason Mark and I drove to Denver last night was because the weather forecast said temperatures would remain above freezing, but when we got up this morning, it was snowing. It wasn’t sticking to the ground, but it was piling up on cars and such. Mark said it had been snowing each of the two times he got up with Tucson during the night. When we left Denver at 10:15 this morning, it was 35° out. Continue reading
