I have been sick with a bad cold which I caught from Mark who caught it from Jamey last week. Today was the first day I felt well enough to leave the house. Continue reading

Clearing the land: Pt 2
Through the woods
I have known for a while that there is a snow mobile trail in the woods behind Lynn’s and Karen’s house, but I had never ventured far enough onto their property to find it. Yesterday, Lynn and her dog, Sasha, took Tucson and me for a walk there and I discovered that the trail led to the field behind the fire station where I work. This morning, I decided to walk to work. Clearing the land; BACA
Mark and I have been busy this weekend. You may recall that on Tuesday I started cutting some of the brushy stuff out of our side yard. I had Friday, Saturday, and today off work, so guess what I did? Continue reading
Yard work and a meeting
It has been so cold in the house that generally I sit in front of the fireplace in my winter coat and stoke the fire all day. It was every bit as cold in the house this morning, but there was a warm breeze outside. I opened all the windows and doors to let the heat in, and then I went outside to work in the yard. The hunt
Several of you have asked whether I got the job I interviewed for at the Ephraim Historical Museum. I didn’t get it, but the interviewer sent me an email asking if I’d like to have my name put in for a Visitor Information job in Ephraim. I politely declined. I would have gone the distance for the museum job, but not for another Visitor Information job. I already have one of those. Continue reading
Weekend doings

A day at Green Bay
Mark had an appointment at the VA in Green Bay today, so we took advantage of the opportunity to run some errands and do some shopping down there. Continue reading
Job interview and etc.
I showed the pictures of Mark blow-torching the cellar doors yesterday so that he could get in and turn on the water. I failed to mention that when he tried to turn on the water pump, there was a crack and water sprayed everywhere, so we don’t have water to the house yet. This also means we don’t have heat in the house because our registers run water through to heat the house. Mark called a plumber this morning and they said they’d try to make it to our house by this afternoon, but it didn’t happen. Hopefully, they can come and fix the leak tomorrow morning. Continue reading
HOME, SWEET HOME!
Mark and I could feel our excitement rising throughout the day today as we got closer and closer to home. Even when I had a migraine, I was glad to be back in familiar territory, and Mark was positively giddy! Tucson was every bit as happy as we’d been hoping all along she’d be. I guess the cats were happy too, but they were too suave to show it. Continue reading
