Thursdays are honey wagon day. The honey wagon is a truck that goes around and collects everything from our holding tanks since we have no sewer connections. The truck they sent around was so small it had to make several trips to empty and refill. Continue reading

Working with Mark
There really isn’t enough work for two people in the office these days, so this morning Rose asked if I’d like to help Mark with cleaning the bathrooms and the laundry rooms. I jumped at the chance to work with him. We got everything cleaned, including over at the gas station that’s affiliated with our park, before time for me to cover my co-worker’s lunch. Bragging rights
Today was a very busy day and I was alone a good part of it. I didn’t do too badly, and I actually sold a Good Sam membership! Until today, I was the only one who hadn’t. So I’m kind of proud of myself. But not nearly as proud as I am of my nephew, Nate, who is a junior in high school. Here is a report I got from my sister last night: Continue reading
Rose
I finally met my boss, Rose, today and when I offered her my hand to shake, she gave me a hug instead! She’s about the same age as my parents and she seems very nice. She complimented me on what I’d done with the paperback exchange area. Continue reading

One couple bought nine Ulu knives, the traditional knives that were used by the tribes who lived in the north. Interestingly, the first time I had seen such a knife was at a Subway sandwich shop in Whitehorse when they used it for chopping salads. It has a curved blade with a wooden handle at the top. First day on the job
Mark and I went into the office together at 10:00 and then were taken our separate ways. I stayed in the office and Mark went outside to help with maintenance and landscaping. Continue reading
Hitting the pavement again
Mark and I continued with our job hunt today, in spite of it being Martin Luther King day. (By the way, Happy MLK Day!) Continue reading
Running around like chickens with our heads cut off
For the past couple days we’ve been doing a lot of running around with not much to show for it. Continue reading
