My son and daughter-in-law are here to visit for a couple days. This morning they came to see the house and the yard. Sarah is good at identifying plants and she says she thinks I have grapes and golden raspberries in my yard. She recommended we wait to see whether they are before we consider pulling them out. Today was the Big Day we’ve been working toward. We got up this morning and took the bedding off the hide-a-bed we’ve been sleeping on in the living room and turned it back into a couch. We cleaned and prepared food and got ready for people to come to our house dedication which we had told everyone would start at 2:00. Our first guests arrived at 2:45. Continue reading

Today all the campers were supposed to be out of here by noon. Mark and I needed to gather up any of the liquids we worked with that might freeze and put them in the heated garage. We also needed to do one last wipe-down, not a full cleaning, so that the bathrooms would be okay for the winter. Around 3:00 a couple people came in while we were working. Other than them, the campground was almost like a ghost town. Basically only the staff was here. Continue reading

OK, so this happened last weekend: We had the annual staff and seasonal spring potluck. Usually they try to have it in May or early June when more of the staff can be available, but this time it was difficult for everyone to coordinate their schedule, so Mark and I and Chris and Deb were the only staff members who were able to attend. Wednesday night, almost the entire staff, including Tim and Kathy who arranged it, got to take a boat tour of the bluffs with Shoreline Tours. This came about because someone from the tour company took the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) training with us a few weeks ago and they offered us a free tour. I took well over two hundred pictures and it has taken me a few days to edit them all. Now, picking just a few of these to show you is my next hurdle! Continue reading
