Tea Thyme in Door County
Today marks the end of my first week at Tea Thyme, and consequently, the end of the first week of the tea room being open. As a result of the tea room being so new, I have the pleasure of learning a new job at the same time as my bosses. We are all in this together! Continue reading
Learning experiences
Yesterday (Monday), I had my interview with Karen at Tea Thyme. They had their Grand Opening last Saturday for the tea room and it was also open on Sunday. Over the weekend, Karen and Lynn realized they will need more help, so they are giving me more hours. As a result, I will be working twenty-two hours at Tea Thyme and about sixteen hours at Seaquist. It’s a nice blend of jobs. Continue reading
An interesting turn of events
Tuesday and Wednesday were my days off, and that’s when I did all the job hunting I wrote about in my last post. I believe I have been hired at Tea Thyme In Door County which is owned by the women that live across the street from us. I’m to meet with Karen on Monday morning at 10:00 to firm that up a bit. So far, they are talking about needing me for ten hours a week in the mornings. Continue reading
Giftedness
When I was growing up, my mother used to say I was as slow as molasses in January. She would drop me off in the toy department while she shopped for groceries and I would organize the little toys. (This was in the day when they’d have bins of little plastic figures loose and other children had dropped the wrong figures into the various bins.) I have always had an eye for detail.
