Mark and I went to explore the mountain today. We decided to be really daring and buy a one-way ticket for the sky tram to the top of the mountain. There is a trail that people can take in either direction or both. We weren’t daring enough to try both! Continue reading

From Stone Mountain, GA
I had never heard of Stone Mountain, GA before we started planning this trip, but it was a place Mark wanted to see. It just so happened that I have another friend I had never met before who lives on the opposite side of Atlanta and he and his wife were free to meet us tonight. Here are today’s pictures: Continue reading
Farmer’s market
For those of you in colder climes who are starved for color and light, we went with Steve and Bernice to their favorite farmer’s market this morning and I took lots of pictures. Continue reading
The Warbird Air Museum
Mark and I slept in this morning, and when we got up and ready we called my cousin, Steve. He and Bernice came to spend the day with us to do whatever we wanted to do. Mark wanted to see the Warbird Air Museum. Continue reading
From Titusville, FL
This being Thanksgiving, there wasn’t much traffic on the roads. I glory in the change of scenery and the warmth. This is the first Thanksgiving ever where I wore short sleeves and shorts to dinner! Continue reading
From Brunswick, GA
We crossed two state borders today, skipping over South Carolina. We will be back in a week or so, but we are in a hurry to spend Thanksgiving with my cousin and his family in Orlando tomorrow. By the way, Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I trust you will be with family and enjoying the food, the fellowship, and “the game” (whichever one you watch). Continue reading
From Lumberton, NC
Our day did not start out well. You may recall that when we tried to park in our campsite last night, there was a truck parked there and Mark had to honk for a while to get the owner to come out and move it. This morning as we were packing up, a woman with a clipboard came by and told us that the next camper for our space was there. We were supposed to have a checkout time of 11:00. It was only 10:30. Continue reading
From Norfolk, VA
I tried to suggest a different order to our travel today. We were going to be traveling through Colonial Williamsburg on our way to our campsite, so I suggested we stop there with RV and all. I knew they’d have parking for RV’s. I wanted Mark to see it in the daylight. In retrospect, perhaps not one of my better ideas. Continue reading
From Harper’s Ferry, WV
In 1976, when my family came to Harper’s Ferry, it was dusk, but I had the impression that it was a beautiful, quaint little town. I seem destined to arrive here at dusk, but I had a very good reason for arriving at dusk this time… Continue reading
George Washington’s Mt Vernon
I had been to Mt Vernon with my family for the Bicentennial in the spring of 1976. I remember stepping out of the car in the parking lot and smelling the most fragrant magnolias I have ever smelled. Going in late fall is different, but there were other differences too. They have continued renovating and researching the site, so taking Mark to see it today, we both had new things to learn. Continue reading
