From La Grande, OR
My last day of work was on Tuesday, the 18th, and Tuesday evening Mark and I began to pack the accumulation of furniture and clothing that family had given us into the back of our truck. Wednesday morning, I took Mark around with me to say goodbye to Mom’s neighbors whom I’d gotten to know. We left Mom’s house and stopped in Vancouver to have lunch with Mark’s mom. Then we headed up to Lynden, WA to get the rest of our stuff out of storage. Continue reading
Easter weekend
So much has been going on since this weekend that I haven’t had a chance to write, but suffice it to say, Mark is here!!! Continue reading
One hour closer!
I worked overtime tonight trying to get some things finished before the end of tax season which is next Tuesday. When I finally caught my bus, I was able to have a chat with Mark by text. He said he was in Glacier National Park in Montana, lucky guy! We had tried to go there on our honeymoon, but the rangers wouldn’t let us in with our RV in late September. I have yet to see it!
Riding the rails =====
Early this morning, Mark parked his motorcycle in the garage at our new house and gave Tim a quick tour. Then Tim took him to Green Bay and put him on the bus for Milwaukee, WI. Once there, Mark boarded the train heading west. WooHoo! Continue reading
Mark’s progress: Sturgeon Bay, WI!
This has to be quick because I need to get to bed, but I talked with Mark this evening and he is in Sturgeon Bay. He’s hooked up to the milk house of a couple from my church there in Sturgeon Bay who invited him to stay on their property for a couple weeks. He says they have horses, goats, and chickens, and the cats are fascinated! He sent me a picture with a joyous message: Continue reading
Mark’s progress: DePere, WI
I wasn’t able to write last night because I spent the night with my sister and she has no internet. I know… It’s crazy isn’t it? But she and I have our own fun. Continue reading
Mark’s progress: Goshen, IN
It was a dark and stormy night when I reached Mark… for him, not me. He was still driving and he was near Lake Michigan after having crossed two and a half states. Every so often he’d say, “Wow!” and I’d know there had been another massive lightning strike like you only get in the Midwest. Continue reading
Mark’s progress: Manchester, TN
Mark spoke to me from Manchester, TN this evening. He said he has finally gotten into cold weather. I asked him if he had any stories to report and he said that at one point today, traffic was so packed together that the trailer of a semi bumped and scratched the housing for one of his side mirrors. That’s pretty tight! Continue reading
Mark’s progress: Forsyth, GA
When I called Mark this evening, he was in Forsyth, GA. I asked him to tell me stories I could pass along. He had a really funny one from today… Continue reading
