Williams-Sonoma has been hiring for several weeks now and everyone they interview wants to work on the sales floor rather than in the stock room, even though we in stock earn $1 more per hour than the sales associates do.  Last week they thought they had a couple more people hired to work in stock, but the people never showed up and didn’t even call. Employment

I have been working at Williams-Sonoma for about two weeks now, and today I got my first paycheck.  It’s only for the first week I worked, but it’s about as much as I sometimes earned in a two week period at Wagon Trail Campground.  Of course, I had an easier job at Wagon Trail Campground and more beautiful surroundings and my bosses and co-workers were like family, so those perks were worth more than money to me. Job hunting, day four… and success!

I had two interviews lined up for today and one tomorrow, plus there was a message on my answering machine from someone else who was trying to line up an interview with me, but after the first interview today I was hired!  This was the place where the assistant manager had sounded so interested in me last week, and today I was interviewed by the manager. This morning I remembered that when I was here during the summer I had learned that the local mall, Washington Square, has a website where all the stores list their job openings.  I went there and ran down the list looking for any that said they had seasonal openings.  I came up with a list of nine stores that were looking for someone on a seasonal basis.  I printed up ten copies of my resume and hit the mall…
